OGN Price Prediction and Price Movement

OGN is up 44.93 percent over the last three months, while its market capitalization is still considered relatively small, which implies that the price of OGN can be very volatile comparing to those with larger market cap during big market moves. However, with a stead growth over the past three months, OGN has the potential to grow further and may yield some very decent gains. Again traders should remain cautious at all time.

Please note that this analysis is purely base on OGN's historic price actions and is by no means financial advice. Traders should always do their own research and be extra careful while investing in cryptocurrencies.

About Origin Protocol

What Is Origin Protocol (OGN)?

Origin Protocol is a web3 protocol with the mission to bring non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and decentralized finance (DeFi) to the masses. After the Origin team has been building consumer-friendly products in the blockchain space for years, they learned that decentralized commerce would satisfy needs that users cannot fulfill with centralized alternatives. This can happen in the form of NFTs as digital collectibles or for financial applications.

Origin Protocol aims to create crypto-centric and user-friendly applications that will enable decentralized applications to rival their centralized counterparts. Origin Protocol also believes that decentralized finance, while growing, is still too cumbersome and complex for average users. Therefore, even crypto-savvy users prefer alternatives like credit cards and mobile payments for their convenience.

For this reason, Origin Protocol has been focusing on enabling commerce on the blockchain across verticals like non-fungible tokens and decentralized finance.

Who Are the Founders of Origin Protocol?

Origin Protocol was launched by Josh Fraser and Matthew Liu. Since his childhood, Mr. Fraser has been coding and has been involved in the crypto industry since as early as 2011. He is the founder of the web optimization company Torbit, later acquired by Walmart Labs. Mr. Liu is a Stanford engineering alumnus that has been involved in crypto since 2014 and participated in the Ethereum crowd-sale in 2014. The protocol’s founding engineer is Yu Pan, a former co-founder of Paypal and ex-Google executive.

Origin’s lead investor is Pantera Capital, and other investors include Foundation Capital, Blocktower, Steve Chen (founder of YouTube), and Garry Tan (partner at Y Combinator).

What Makes Origin Protocol Unique?

Origin Protocol aims to unlock value in crypto-centric opportunities across several verticals.

One is its self-serve NFT sale, which gives creators and influencers more control over their content and digital products. With Origin Story, Origin Protocol builds custom storefronts for creators that allow the protocol to generate record-breaking NFT sales in sectors like music, art, sports, retail, and many others. Its WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor enables creators to create Origin accounts, upload audio and visual assets for their NFTs and customized websites, and schedule NFT sales.

Furthermore, Origin Protocol offers its Origin NFT Marketplace that is to become the leader in NFT marketplaces and will allow Origin-branded aggregator markets, as well as site-specific markets. Site-specific marketplaces can be run by creators on their websites, thus using the Origin infrastructure for their specific purpose. The branded Origin marketplace enables creators to aggregate their NFTs on a single site similar to how Opensea works. In the future, Origin plans to branch out to Ethereum layer-two scaling solutions.

Another key part of Origin’s utility is its stablecoin called the Origin Dollar. This algorithmic stablecoin does not require staking or lock-up periods but automatically generates yields between 20% and 150%. Origin Protocol enables users to automatically accrue yield while holding OUSD.

OUSD integrates with two lending providers, Compound and Aave. OUSD is also integrated with several AMMs like Curve, Uniswap, Sushiswap, and Balancer. The OUSD smart contract automatically earns yield, and in the future, Origin Protocol plans to distribute the reward tokens earned from the DeFi protocols across OUSD holders.

How Many Origin Protocol (OGN) Coins Are There in Circulation?

The Origin Token (OGN) is the governance and value accrual token for the entire Origin Platform. Token holders can vote on the following proposals:

  • Adding/removing new types of yield-earning strategies.
  • Allocating capital across a basket of strategies.
  • Determining what fees are charged by the protocol.
  • Determining what incentives are offered on an ongoing basis.

10% of the yields generated by OUSD are collected as a fee and used to buy back OGN. OGN holders benefit from OUSD supply expansion, because with a higher supply of OUSD, generated fees that flow to OGN holders increase as well. The total supply of OGN is 1 billion according to the following distribution:

  • Advisor Sale: 4.38% at $0.0685
  • Strategic Sale: 23.75% at $0.12
  • CoinList Sale: 4.84% at $0.1364
  • Team tokens: 20.24%
  • Advisor Grants: 1.69%
  • Foundation Reserves: 31.37%
  • Ecosystem Growth Funds: 12.99%
  • Long-term Partnerships: 0.73%

How Is the Origin Protocol Network Secured?

OGN is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.

The Origin Protocol is on a path of continuous decentralization and is currently in the second of four phases of decentralization. Origin Protocol stresses that decentralization is only related to the protocol and does not extend to centralized applications like peer-to-peer payments or debit cards built on OUSD.

Where Can You Buy Origin Protocol (OGN)?

OGN is available on Binance, Hotcoin Global, Bitget, Mandala Exchange, and BingX.
